An Update from Poppy’s…
We have an exciting update to share with our Poppy’s community!
Poppy’s Ice Cream will remain open in our current location through Sunday, March 15th until 9 PM. After that, we will take a short break to move everything just two doors down into Nautilus Coffee Co., where Poppy’s will officially reopen on Tuesday, March 17th.
This temporary move allows us to bring the best of both worlds together — coffee and ice cream under one roof. Guests will now be able to enjoy their favorite Poppy’s scoops alongside Nautilus Coffee’s specialty drinks any time of day.
With this change, Nautilus Coffee Co. will also be expanding its hours and staying open late, and Poppy’s will now be open 7 days a week, making it even easier to stop by for a sweet treat.
Many of you have asked why we are making this move, and we want to share a little more of the story.
As many of our supporters know, my husband was previously a partner in Ironworks Steakhouse, the Citrus Hotel, and Citrus Sky Bar. A few months ago, he sold his shares in those businesses. Ironworks Steakhouse has continued to grow and frequently turns away larger parties due to limited space. Because Poppy’s shares space with Ironworks, we made the decision to temporarily give up the Poppy’s space so the steakhouse can expand and better accommodate those larger groups.
This is only a short-term move while we prepare for Poppy’s new home coming in the near future right here in Downtown Tavares.
In the meantime, we’re excited for this next chapter. Bringing Poppy’s into Nautilus Coffee will create a fun new experience where guests can enjoy fresh coffee, handcrafted drinks, and our signature ice cream all in one place.
We truly appreciate the support our community has shown us over the years. Your encouragement has allowed us to grow, evolve, and continue creating spaces where people can gather and make memories.
Big things are ahead for both Nautilus Coffee Co. and Poppy’s Ice Cream, and we can’t wait to share them with you.

We're also the folks behind some of your other favorite spots in Downtown Tavares: Nautilus Coffee Co. and The Argonaut Bar and Lounge.
We're passionate about our community and are dedicated to making Tavares a destination where memories are made. We love creating immersive experiences for our guests, and Poppy's is no exception!
